We will have our next prayer meet on 10 June 2016

Growing in Freedom (Part 1)

20 May 2016

The evening's sharing focused on the importance of being freed from certain enthralling attachments. For the group sharing, we had these to reflect on:
As for you, do not seek what you are to eat and what you are to drink, and do not worry anymore. All the nations of the world seek for these things, and your Father knows that you need them. Instead, seek his kingdom, and these other things will be given you besides. (Luke 12: 29-31)
 &
Let your life be free from love of money but be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never forsake you or abandon you.”Thus we may say with confidence: “The Lord is my helper, [and] I will not be afraid. What can anyone do to me?” (Hebrews 13: 5-6)

Novena to the Holy Spirit

We will not meet for two Fridays namely the 6th and 13th May to make way for Novena to the Holy Spirit which is from 6th to 14th May 2016.

Our next prayer meet will start on 20th May 2016.

A Family Night to Remember

29 April 2016

On that night, the uninvited winged insects swarmed to all the lit lamps in Maranatha Hall but that did not deter us from having a great time. As you can see from the pictures below, the kids were trying to get as many balloons suspended directly under the air vent before the whole thing started.
One pink balloon for now
Two balloons, and still counting...
Hmm, how many more air vents do we need to cover?
By the time all the balloons were in place, the insects were no longer in sight. What better time to say grace and dig in.
Let's get ourselves physically fed before the fun begins
Once we all had our fill, the children were asked to gather in front for a game of Pass the Octopus. So much noise was created as the kids passed the octopus around while the music was playing. And when the music stopped, you could sense the dread the person holding on to it was feeling.
President Truman would have said, "The octopus stops here."
The adults later joined the kids for scavenger hunt. Among some of the items asked were a strand of white hair, a rosary and a bottle cap.
Have we got everything?
Next on the list was a game of deciphering a series of emoji.
There's a couple and a tree and an apple (Adam and Eve) but the rest are so hard

Lots of oohs and aahs once the pictures were explained
As we were all enjoying ourselves so much, we did not realise it was getting close to 9.15 which was the usual time for us to leave. We therefore ended with a short prayer and it was time to clean up and then leave.
For those of you who couldn't join us this time, we look forward to your presence the next time round.
